VR6 Thermostat Housing Advice

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am planning on replacing the thermostat housing (and thermostat while I'm at it) on my VR6 Storm over the weekend.

This is due to a coolant leak of massive proportions (approx 2L a day!)

Does anyone have any tips or tricks that may be useful, or just general advice on what is the best way to do it.

Also, do I need any special tools ?

Cheers,

Stooby.

First thing i did to mine and from memory its a pain but not too bad. Dont think you need any spec tools, just be methodical, removing the coil pack etc.

Mine didnt seal first time out so i had to do it twice. Not much help mate, but my only advice is take it slow and spend some time cleaning up all the hose ends etc and make sure the hose clips sit nicely when it all goes back together. AND USE JUBILEES - for next time!
