g60 engine

hi i was wondering if i put grey injectors in my g60 would i notice any gains in peformance. or are the grey injectors in g60 as standard.

 

and i also have a tapping noise coming from my engine and i cant work out if its the tapets does anyone know a sure way off checking, and if it is how much do they cost to replace and is it relatively straight forward. cheers for any help.

fire&iceG60, That tapping could just be your injectors. Mean make a tapping noise.

you wont notice any improvements on just a squirter change.

 

the engine has been mapped by VW as standard to run on those injectors properly. Yuo will need a different map to drive bigger or smaller injectors. unless you have made any modes i wouldn't bother. i run red tops with a [email protected] with a 65mm pulley. even on the 65 id say its borderline that you need a bigger injector depends on other mods.

i went in this order.

 

exhaust and filter- more sound than power

bigger intercooler

65mm, red tops, 3.5bar reg.

boost return mods, breathers

 

get a good front engine mount too if you plan boost upgrades.

get a screwdriver on the rocker cover and listen around for any tappet noise.

 

if its on decel around the 2k mark it may be the rod bearings.

cheers for that how can my injectors be making a tapping noise. i was just looking at the grey injectors as a upgrade not because i think they are knackered.

thay make a tapping noise because they are wee solenoids, they're electric, thats your noise man

if you want a upgrade, go for new red inj they'l be cheaper and new ones are better than ebay junk
