helicoil in plug threads....HELP please

sorry its not a corrado, but i could use some advice

 

our mk2 polo has spat out number 1 plug and theres no threads left on the head

 

im hoping to attempt to helicoil it in situ

 

can anyone offer any advise, what tools will i need, how long should it take, how should i keep swarf out of plug hole etc

 

any advise at all, never used or seen a helicol before

 

what thread do i need?

It'd take it to an engineering company or find a mobile repairer. Helicoiling is cheap enough to leave to someone with all the gear and who's done it before. I think my mate paid £30 to have no.1 cylinder Helicoiled with the head in situ on his Golf VR6.

well not sure about helicoli a plug hole but if u want sitting in my house i have a 70K 1L engine and gear box from a polo fox that only had one woman owner before my brother got hold of it (used the shell to reshell his g40) ur more than welome to have

 

as its going to get dumped soon
