kongo127 0 Posted December 3, 2005 I have a friend who has a 1991 Corrado. Mine is a 1990. He doesn´t have a ECU in his car which has been rebuilt. He would like to run it for a while. Can i put my ECU in his car? I believe i can because the pinout is identical. The only difference is that his car has A/C and mine has not. What do you think? VEEDUBBED 0 Posted December 3, 2005 No worrys mate,when i was building my G60 charged 2.0 valver engine i put the wrong injectors in by mistake thus blowing the ecu's drivers,i then fitted a spare unit with a different number and the engine ran i then tried yet another 1 with a stg 4 chip and a purple sticker,no problem. Tempest 0 Posted December 3, 2005 For the G60 there were in principle 2 ECUs: One with a B-ending, and one with a DP-ending. The latter was said to be a wee bit quicker, due to the slightly faster components used inside, but this was negligible in terms of bhp-increases. It eventually all boils down to the chip you're running. A/C-pin: If this isn't wired through, then the idle speed won't be adjusted whenever the A/C is switched on, as the A/C pin passes to the ECU a signal from the A/C switch in the mid console control. This again will only work, if the chip has a suitable setting, i.e. is A/C aware. So in terms of answering your question: Yes, you can run almost any ECU, as long as the chip is suitable for the set-up. I even ran a CR-ending ECU, but with Zoran's chip, no problem.
