Cars started eatin batterys

Recommended Posts

i also have this problem on my vr6.

it seems to have started after the alarm went off when i was on holiday could it be the alarm ?

i have had it checked by an auto electritian and he said he could not find a problem, alternator punching its weight ( 14.9 ) no drain with everything switched off.

i wonder if the alarm is causing the problem ?

any more ideas ?

does the battery light start coming on when you hammer it up the road? mine did all this and gave me rubbish voltage readings.

changed the voltage regulater and this cured it. £10 from GSF

also check the lead that runs from the battery down to the starter motor

no the battery light goes off and stays off.

i only use the car at weekends so it stands for 5 days unused but it only started draining like this after the alarm drained the battery completely.

i have a new battery on the car but it still does not hold the charge more than 3 days.

does the immobiliser light draw enough to do this and could i remove it to see if this improves the situation
