Passat gearbox

My gearbox is starting to get very noisey due to input shaft bearing goin :cry:

can get hold of box from a 1.8 carb passat but will it fit/work fine on my 2l 16v?

I've fitted on my g-charged 2 liter corrado the gearbox of a '99 passat TDI,the box will fit no problem,it's the ratios that may be much different,post up the code on the top of the gearbox,3 letters such as CCM,CBA,DQY(mine),ATA etc(there are hundreds...),you probably may have to also swap the shifter tower over.

yeah a mate of mine has a mk1 16v with the corrado pedal box and he's using a mk4 tdi box, doesn't suit the high reving character of the valver, its good on take off though..
