Coolant level

Recommended Posts

This might sound like the thickest question ever, but without a C manual how do you know how much coolant/water to put in when you've drained it all out?

Cheers

depends on the engine, a 16v takes about 6.5 litres If I Recall Correctly

- which I don't

nope, according to Haynes it's 5.5 litres for the 16v

Duff - just a hint ; I pour mine into a seperate container to mix with water and keep it like that (5L). Then pour in until it reaches that big black line that says Max. Then give the rad hoses a good squeeze to free air-traps. I've also heard there is another way to avoid air-traps but I cannot confirm this.
