VW Corrado 16V

about Koni Sport

Recommended Posts

I’m going to buy new Front absorbers for my 1991 1.8i 16V Corrado.

I choose Koni Sport. 8)

Can you tell me which Koni-number is for me (from Koni sport catalog). I want to have adjustment and rebound.

I cannot understand what’s the difference between:

Front: as from 1991, only for non-sealed struts without dent in housing to clear the tire

and

Front: for sealed or non-sealed struts

with dent in housing to clear the tire

???

The car has Eibach springs – painted black metallic. I don’t know how many mm they lower.

Are the G60 and 1.8i 16V having the same Front absorbers?

I ask for the catalog number, because the guy in the shop can only order them – he doesn’t know any details. :x

Thanks

Can I fit "without dent in housing to clear the tire" into the KR?

What's the difference?

yep it's very confusing, in the end I went for the inserts for the standard legs for my 1990 16v, 8641-1198 Sport, you need to fill the leg with anti-freeze after removing the original factory insert and it's oil, but make sure you don't already have all in one aftermarket struts as you cannot put the koni inserts into these, only the factory struts.

Thanks for the answer – I understand what’s the difference between the 2 models.

I talked with the distributors (KONI) for my country - and they told me, that I couldn’t use 8641-1198Sport with tuning springs.

If I want to have lower springs and KONI absorbers - I must buy only 8710-1302SP20? :?
