AArrrggghhh how do you get MK4 front door trims off?

alright peeps

 

just trying to get the other halfs door trims off the MK4 = removed the 3 T15 screws from the bottom and still solid as a rock - does something need prising off first ala Corrado grab handle ???

You can pull the small insert out behind the grab handle on the door.. I believe there might be a screw you can access and then pull up the whole grab handle - its sort of snapped in with about 4 or 5 clips.. get that out of the way and you will see there are about 3 big cross headed screws holding the door card on.

 

I also think there are a few small cross headed screws dotted around the flat edges of the door.. that should be the lot!

I think there were 5 screws in all when we did my mates window reg and you have to also remove the armrest bit and unplug the electrics...

 

I also remember we had to lower the window for some reason too (told us to in haynes manual)

you have to yank it like hell with all the screws removed

most of the retaining clips will break and you will need new ones

only pence from vw
