Oil in Charger Pipes

Recommended Posts

The other week, I was driving over to my girlfriends house, when I noticed the engine sounding different, a bit crap sounding. :(

Anyway, I put my foot down and noticed that my boost gauge was not reading any boost!! :o

F*&K I thought, I have blown the charger

Anyway, the next day I looked under the car to see that one of the pipes to the intercooler had come away, and was not connected

Bought a new jubilee clip and fitted it back.

Boost again :)

When I looked under the car, there was quite a bit of black engine oil dripping from the bottom of the cooler, and inside the pipework.

I know you get a bit of oil, but this seemed excesive.

The charger seems fine, producing around 0.8 bar max (1810 on MFA) at 6000rpm. :D

Also does anyone know what all the MFA test functions are. I know one is boost and one is instant MPG...Whats that counting one read? :?
