De cat - G60

Have decided to go down the route of a de-cat for my G60

 

Purely for aural (sp.) reasons & nowt else.

 

As I'm a bit of a whimp, I don't want to go for a full blown de-cat, but instead I want to remove the inards of an old cat and, if necessary sleeve it.

 

Will keep the good 'un for MoT time.

 

Question is, where can I get a knackered G60 cat from???

I think if your car was built before 1st Jan 1993 then it doesn`t need to be fitted with a CAT after that date if it was fitted witha CAT at the factory it can`t be removed!

So you should be alright, mine past the MOT last year with no CAT even thou the MOT tester said to me you have to have CAT until one of the other mechanics corrected him !

Should be interesting this year with all the computer MOT shite, i just know its gonna fail on something really stupid :-(

I have an old G60 cat if your interested in ripping it apart. It should still be good but I have 2 and only need 1.

All cars registered after 1st August 1992 have to have a CAT fitted to pass an MOT. Mine is a K 92 G60, and it failed for not having a CAT fitted. The tester said "It would never pass an emissions test without a CAT fitted"

 

Checked my log book. Registered 08/08/1992, a week to late!!

Yep,

 

Idea is to keep use my present cat (which is very new) for 1 or 2 days of the year, and the fake version for the rest.

 

20 quid or so once a year for my local garage to do the swap is the plan...
