How can I test the starter without removing it?

Recommended Posts

Think the starter may be going on the rado,

it'd refused to turn over 3 times now and then eventually will just start as if nothing is wrong?!?!?

Any clues?

No click just nothing at all, and only seems to happen after a long run??

I'm thinking its probably the ignition switch.

Does ECP stock them?

Try shaking the key from side to side in the barrel when it won't start...

Make sure you buy a genuine switch, pattern ones are poo...

Just check this, my car wouldn;t start today so i poped the bonnet and noticed the switched live from the ignition to the starter had come off, its sheared out of the clip so there is no where for me to connect the cable.

Can you buy the clips new

Any ideas

BeavisJem, do you mean the plug on the red/black cable to the soleniod? - if so yes and they're not much.... check your engine mounts too....
