G60 not starting, has dash lights but doesn't even turn over

My k reg G60 is not starting.

 

It had a new alternator a few weeks ago and a new battery. Now when I turn the key the dash lights come on but the engine doesn't turn over at all.

 

Last week it failed to start and the AA guy said he thought it was a dead starter motor, the car bump started and has been fine since then but has not started again today (the car has not had a new starter motor). When driving the car the battery light flickers occasionally, I think there may be a loose wire somewhere.

 

Can anybody help? Has anyone got any wiring diagrams?

igntion switch - sounds very similar to a problem a used to have

 

Try turning the car over but "lifting" the key in the barrell as you turn. This may not work depending on how knackered your switch is - there is a guide in the wiki for replacing. I'll fetch a link ...

the new part from VAG is just over 20 quid. Don't get any other one, as they still have the same problem. If you've removed the dash before you can do this in 40 mins or less?
