Mark 4 timing/diesal

Depends on model but it's a big job... requires some special tools as well so unless you have a very good specialist nearby, you'll find it's cheaper to go to the dealer...

 

They usuallly have set prices but I think TDI's start at £250 - £450 inc parts.

 

On my AJM engine they say you should replace cambelt, tensioner, relay roller, waterpump and all associated bolts. Parts on there own come to over £100

STRETCH=use once only

we have had around 8 or 9 vag cars come into work where the belts been changed elsewhere with out replacing the bolts and then bolts have snaped and the engine drops
