--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all,

im looking for some advice on dropping a VR6 into a mk2 golf!

it will not be me doing the converson! A few mechanic mates of mine are up for the job!

i just really want some advise that i can give them!

i am fitting g60 or vr6 breaks so i belive they will be fine!

also a tdi or a vr6 radiator!

what else will i need to change over or consider?

do i need to change the subframe or will the standard mk2 subframe be ok?

AFAIK you do have to modify the subframe, but some tuning places do a custom subframe that will save you a lot of headaches. I think that C&R do one and I also don't remember it being horrendously expensive either... 8)

Also, mind that you don't wear out your ! button.

Use a corrado vr6 front subframe and a golf/corrado vr6 rear subframe with the rear engine mount cut down. Best to use the plus suspension, wishbones driveshafts and hubs of a vr6 (5 stud).
