Likely BHP readings?? Think all is fine...phew!

Recommended Posts

Well........

After wondering if my supercharger was up the shoot i think it is safe to say all is running smooth......

I did a test for boost leak and all was fine :) and the supercharger seems to be fine and all that rotates looks in working healthy order.

The supercharger only had a stage 4 build 20 000 miles ago so i'm fairly confident it is fine.

Not to sound like a chav but i also did a 0-60 time which came in at 8 secs or a bit less. With a problem supercharger would this have been a lot slower????

So with my current setup i was hoping for some feedback on what BHP figures i could expect.....

K&N panel filter

Full decat Miltek exhaust

FMIC

Oil cooler

Stage 4 on Supercharger

Stock bhp is 160ish i think! What do you guys reckon the car is putting out??? I will have it dyno'd hopefully soon!

PS - What is an RSR Outlet????

I wouldn't use 0-60 time as a reliable indicator of what sort of condition your supercharger is in mate!

Check out our buyers guide - it has information on a procedure you can run to get boost pressure readings. Whilst not totally perfect, this information will give you a better idea on the health of your charger.. though nothing is as good as removing it and getting it stripped down by a specialist to verify its condition!

You're lucky to have a G60 at 20 years old though! My G60 was an absolute riot! :)

You say lucky but i have already had an MR2 Turbo and a Skyline running 320BHP lol!

The charger has had stage 4 done to it 20 000 miles ago so i would have thought it is fine??! But i guess i should get it checked!

Any ideas for BHP??

So the RSR outlet is the pipe coming off the charger to the airbox???? Are the uprated ones any good??

you really need a chip n pulley, this can give upto 20-30ish bhp alone and really makes a difference

Its difficult to give an estimated BHP figure as all engines are so different.

Do you know which firm did the rebuild of the charger?

i would have said it wasnt much more than 160bhp given that the engine has probably never been built and is about 15 years old if not more.

standard G60's are well slow, especially if you had a 320bhp skyline before

Alex, Dont worry about a RSR outlet you have the proper Rallye outlet fitted on her, you cant get any better than that! Cheers Dave
