FTM1975 0 Posted July 9, 2007 My gearbox on my corrado 1.8 16v went pop last week and was wondering if anyone could advise me as to what gearbox can use to replace it. ie. do i need to source one directly from another corrado or can i use one out of a Mk2 Golf perhaps!!! as they are not as few and far between as the corrado! any suggestions greatly appreciated! davidwort 0 Posted July 9, 2007 make sure it's an AGC code cable change box from a Corrado or passat (1.8 16v), A 2.0 16v or mk3 golf 16v box will go in but the ratios are longer and will slow acceleration. An 8v passat box will be far too long legged. The gearbox code can be found on a flat surface close to the selector tower, look in the gearbox info in the wiki.
