Broke the lever on the heater controls

Its a earler valver. On the lever that dictates where the heater blows (air vents, windscreen etc), well, ive broken it. It often gets stuck on the headunit wires when moving from left to right, so i gave it a tug and it snapped. Its odd tho, the piece of plastic that has come off doesnt appear snapped, so it looks as though it has just been pulled off something.

 

Basically, how do i fix this? And please dont tell me i'll be removing half the dash board!
