flushing brake system

Recommended Posts

Its not a bit of flushing and some new seals. Its all new seals, calipers, pads and very likely pipes aswell. Dont really call it a small £50-£100 job either. The work to be carried out was over £500 from two different garages and that was if the pipes were ok. I could do it myself but cant be without a car.

I should have said this before, but you wouldn't need new calipers, unless they were corroded, you'd get seal kits for all 4 calipers for around £60, add £20 for master cylinder seals. Pads(shouldn't really need them) £80. goodridge hoses are £50 and cheaper than new rubber hoses from vw or gsf.

If I had £500 I would have tried to buy your car, fixed it and banged it on for £1200.

Fair enough if you can't be without a car, but it would be a weekends work IMO.

Nevermind. I'm sure plenty of people will be happy with new parts to keep their cars on the road.

Yes, thats a steep bill but i've seen a LOT worse for various other jobs on the Corrado. Its not like the Corrado is a super high performance car, but then its not a Fiat Uno either. It does command high costs for repairs, especially an overhaul of the brake system!

waters a different issue. Some liquid was mixed into the brake fluid which has reacted and foremd a thick black like oil. This is the problem as it simply wont flush out! I will give someone the chance to repair! £500 without the wheels and its anyones! But i doubt there will be any interest to be honest!
