TOAD alarm / full closure??

Hi,

 

i hjust bought a VR with a aftermarket toad alram but the windows and sunroof wont close with the alarm (like the original should)

 

is this just something that needs re-programing?

not too sure if the sunroof does, but sometimes my alarm shuts the windows, sometimes it dont!! just one of those things!!! :(

Might be worth checking that the full closure works from the key first.

mines the same..receipt shows total closure was added with the Ai606 system and i've managed to lock all doors and close windows with the key int he door lock, but i've been told the sunroof won't close due to my 16v being before 1993...which is when the newer Corrados had full total closure from door lock.

 

Is there a gaurentee with these CAT 1 alarms from Toad? and if so..do ya think i'd have to take it to the place that fitted it, or another toad specialist.

my toad a606i that i just had fitted closes the windows from the keyfob, but not the sunroof as apparently there is no such wiring for this function.

later corrados do close the sunroof. i've seen it, i know. :wink:

 

Early ones are windows only. All Rad's should have closure from the key.

I have the Ai606 and you can definitely close the roof with this alarm. They need to programme it in to one of the channel.

There is an option with the 606 to be able to arm the alarm and not close the roof - supposed to be good if you want to alarm the car and vent it with the roof open on tilt on hot days.

Anyway - I chose to have it close the alarm on arming - so get the programmer to do this - it is not problem. I was also told that this alarm was not able to lock the doors on ignition as there was an inhibitor - however after much persistence on my part, the installer found a way and now the doors lock 10 secs after I turn the ignition and unlock when I turn off.

These alarms can do it all - just got to find the right programmer!

i'll have to check what model of alarm it is?

 

it starts to close the sunroof but only about an inch and then it stops. the windows dont move atall.

 

i'll take it into my local car place, there a toad dealer.

hey just tried the key and it all closes. so i guess i just have to get the alarm re-programed?

 

is it a case of resetting the existing unit or do i have to buy and add on?

They probably didnt wire it into the channels correctly!

so if i take it to a toad alarm dealer they will be able to sort it?? how good is the toad? i have the Ai606.

Ai606 is a good alarm had one on my current car for 3 years no problems :D

i have the same alarm it shuts my WINDOWS AND SUNROOF BUT I HAVE TO HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN FOR THREE SECONDS TO DO THIS WHICH IS ANNOYING

i just tried the 3 second thing and all it did was set the alarm off (which is pretty quiet compared to my last clifford allarm!)

The A1606 is a SUPER alarm - very reliable - I hear that they dont often go wrong, which is good!

The installer has a choice of putting the alarm on a separate channel which would make it do full closure only if button 3 is held down or 1 and 3 together (I cant remember)

BUT they can wire it into the same channel as arming and so it will do full closure on arming.

Take it to the dealer - am sure they can sort it :)
