VR6 ECU reset - how long can u wait b4 VAGCOM?

Just reset my ECU, had no choice but to take off the battery for other reasons, read through the reset procedure, done that, just waiting for my mate to turn up with a VAGCOM system, question is - can i still drive around as usual after doing the reset until its put on VAGCOM and reset to basic settings? Or do you have to immediatley have to put it on VAGCOM? Just that i need to use the car and aint gonna get on VAGCOM for another couple of days yet.

Fine to drive - will just re-learn it's adaptive settings - you may want to reset it again before going thru basic settings tho...

Cheers for that, I did think that it would be good to reset it just before getting it on VAGCOM again.
