Boost & Air/Fuel Gauges....

Recommended Posts

I've been looking into getting a boost gauge and a air/fuel gauge to mount on the A-pillar of my Corrado...Ive looked around and ive found a lot of boost gauges that go up to like 40 psi or so....and i know my Corrado wont be getting that boost...So i was wondering if they made gauges that went up to like 20 or so? Also...ive noticed different styles that are back-lit, or reverse lit.....do the normal ones have a small light in them anywhere at all? If anyone owns any of these gauges, ide appreciate some info on them. Thanks.

Also...if you know where to get a dual a-pillar pod to fit a Corrado, please let me know, thanks again.

I've just bought a set of Autometer Pro-comp ultra-lite gauges which is a 30PSI pressure and 30In/Hg vaccuum gauge. It uses a lightbulb in the back for illumination and comes with 2 filters that you fit to the bulb so that he illumination can be red or green. I also bought an electrical oil pressure and electrical oil temp gauge at the same time... 8)

Have a word with G60Jet about LHD A pillar pods as I know he's either just fitted, or is just about to fit some... 8)

You have any idea where i can see pictures of these type of gauges lit up in the dark? Ive noticed autometer has some called Lunar...where the whole back is lit up...They all look pretty similiar during the day, but ide like to see what they all look like at nite.

I got a my boost guage from http://store.summitracing.com/ they have a really good selection. Dont forget to get a guage that measures vacume as well (made that mistake myself) VDO do one that does the above and only goes to 16psi and doesnt say TURBO on it :) The VDO's look pretty stock but not sure if they do air fuel one.

HTH

Where? I can't find it on any of their sites or any of the three posted above... I REALLY want one to go with my other VDO gauges, but I can't find a VDO Boost gauge with vacuum but without TURBO splattered across it... :?

They're great links though... 8)

Hi Henry,

I'm really struggling to find this now. I know they do a vacume guage that matches the OE and I found this one only problem is it looks like it goes up to 30 psi (which is no use) but I guess they do a 15 psi version.

the VDO website doesnt show all products so I guess you could email them and ask for a supplier.

Also these guys do -30 to 25 so getting closer

I didnt book mark the dual gauge as I already have the boost gauge. And so really only looking for the vac myself.

I just orderered an AutoMeter gauge book...and i looked around andddd a used supercharger for my G60....The person i bought it from says it puts out 8 lbs of boost and im planning to get a smaller pulley for it for Xmas...Ive been looking at the gauges in the book and ive decided that i dont want a 30psi gauge cause the needle wont go anywhere....So i was thinking maybe 15....Would a supercharger putting out 8 lbs of boost now with a smaller pulley on make more than 15 psi? Should i go with a 20 psi gauge?

Also...does anyone know where i can find backlit 15/20 psi gauges? Autometer only makes them in 30 psi. :(

All of you mention that its best to get a gauge that also has a vac. Can someon explain to me where the vacuum comes from? Thanks.
