Not so funny request for a picture

Hi

I need a picture of the inside of 1.8 16v ignition lead plug end.

I cannot see what grabs the neck of the plug. If it is just a sit on top, then surely warm weather can cause misfires.

why do you think warm weather would cause a plug lead to make it misfire? gets pretty warm in there year round when the engine is running

 

dont have a pic but its much the same as any other lead...clips onto the top of the plug and the rubber part is a snug fit in the head

some just push in (ealry ones) later 1s have like a thread in the middle of the dizzy cap that the lead clips too if that makes sense

Thanks.

The dizzy end of the lead has a wire clip that I can see. This clip grabs the neck of the 'thread-in-the-middle-of-the-dizzy'.

But I cant see any such clip on the plug end of the lead. If you can confirm the plug end of the lead with a photo, that will be great.

Is it the 6inch deep lead from a 16valver. If it is ,what brand are the leads.

Vw leads from a 1990 1.8 16v. Yeah the deep-down inside buggers! If you're going to replace them OEM is probably your best bet, they'll be around £80 a set but apparently better quality than non-original leads.

 

Mine's on its second set in 178,000 miles!
