throttle cable problems

Recommended Posts

I have a 90 g60 and i was drivin down the road when i noticed that the gas pedal was not normaly as hard to push down as usual and then all of a sudden i lost the throttle cable to the pedal. In witch now i have no gas pedal. I tried hooking the gas pedal up to what seems to be the return spring (black rubber bulb) and with that attached the pedal still sits on the floor (with the cable off). So im wanderin is there a way to fix it, if it is broken, or do i need a new one? Ive also noticed with it hooked up to the return (black rubber bulb) and the cable back on the pedal that i dont have as much acceleration as i use to. just some more info to give more insight to my problem.

sounds like its stretched - when I got my C the guy before me said, its great can get 40mpg out of it. after driving it home I released why. throttle pedal was about half the way up it should of been, not only that but he had the thickest bit of carpet ever under it two so was never getting anywhere near full throttle!

i'm replacing my cable at the weekend - will let you know how it goes (also doing tyres, cooling system, coilovers and paint correction!)
