McGard Wheel Locks Question

Recommended Posts

Hi Chaps,

Just wondered if anyone can confirm which model to use on a 4 Bolt 8v wheel?

The ones i were told would fit dont screw in that far so i'm a little paranoid about them, they screw in about 6 complete turns but the other bolts screw in nearly 10 whole turns.

The wheels are after market alloys by the way and the mode number on the packet is, M12 x 1.5. 28028 su.

Does anyone still have their packaging to check i have the right ones please?

Thanks!

Kip :?

you need about 10mm thread in but as the other 3 bolts are standard it should be ok ,i hardly ever tighten mine past finger tight ,just keep an eye on them for a few weeks

are the aftermarket wheels you have a taper seat or radius seat?

I have a set of Mc guard bolts with a taper seat and slightly longer threads from My Azev A's, if they are of any use, I have gone back to standard radius seats for the BBS's so i dont need them.

Mine are 27179su

M12 x 1.5

Mine are also aftermarket which may change the length of bolt you need. Aftermarket wheels may also mean you need taper rather than radius seating on the bolt heads. I think OE wheels need a radius seat, but I know my aftermarket require taper heads.
