krnau 0 Posted September 29, 2008 After having spent most time of the day reading old topics about this... there are 2 questions please 1 "There should be a plastic membrane between the inside of the doorcard and the door itself. If this is damaged or missing, water will gather in the footwell. " a plastic memb-whattttttttt??? I have nothing there 2. holes in the lower part of the door in order to drain water???? Alexander 0 Posted September 30, 2008 I didn't have any membranes either - just take the door card off, and silicone/tape a thick rubble bag over the door, making sure it's good and sealed all the way round. leon263 0 Posted October 11, 2008 You will see a row of drain holes along the bottom of the door if you look up from underneath. They are close to the outer skin of the door. When it rains the water gets into the door between the glass and the window scraper (the black plastic strip along the base of the glass). It then runs out through the drain holes. If the drain holes are blocked the lower part of the door fills up with water and from there it seeps into the car from behind the door card if the membrane is not there.
