swapping altinator. 8v golf mk2 into raddo 1.8 16v

hey folks. needing a bit of info.

i recently purchased a 1.8 16v carrado and is a 1991, before that i owned a golf mk2 1.8 8v. i bought a brand new altinator for the golf 8v and was wondering if i could fit it into my corrado 1.8 16v. if anyone knows cheers. :D
