corradog60stage4 0 Posted January 1, 2009 If your fuel gauge acts funny or is completely empty at time and sometime full. This is maybe the cause of your problem like I had to diagnose on my sister's jetta. With the tank full it would sometime read full and parked on the driveway at a angle would read empty. I took out the pump like 3 times to ensure the float was not binding and everything. Outside of the tank the lever would work find when I moved it up and down but not once it was inside the tank.
