dim head lights on main beam

Recommended Posts

here is one 4 u fellas (and of course ladies!) my head lights on main beam are really dim, when you pull the switch about 2 mm they go really bright (well prob normal!) i thought it was a dodgy connection in the steering switch, so tried 2 take it apart while it was still on the steering collom, and snapped a little piece of plastic that pulls the switch, so 2 months without main's got a new one, thinking that was it, but no good old dodgy corrado electrics reign supreem once again!!!! HELP ME!!! what has happened 2 ma baby!!!

No prob.

Not entirely sure as I bought mine off H100VW via ebay.

I would assume that he sells them for around £50. Worth it though.

Hi All,

I'm new on here and new to the corrado!

But I have an issue with the lights :confused4:

I have a G reg 1.8 16v and the other day the main beam was very dim!

The dip beam was normal, the Flash beam worked OK too.

I'll try to explain.....

on dip beam everything is normal, when you pull the stalk towards you to turn on the main beam both the main beam lights come on but look dim and the blue light on the dash looks dim too.

When you pull the stalk to flash main beam, the lights return to normal brightness, and the blue light on the dash gets brighter too... but dimms again when you release the flash.

I've checked all the fuses I can find, bulbs are OK & swapped the relays with some others I have to no effect.

does any one have any ideas??

or have a wiring diagram?

I found a similar post here

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6131&p=59088&hilit=dim+main+beam#p59088

but the link doesnt work..

Many Thanks for any help.

Hi VR6,

Do you know what was on the original link you posted?

Or what I need to get from E-bay?

Cheers
