Beige Interior Advice...

Recommended Posts

My 95 VR6 has a factory beige leather interior. However after 160000 miles the front seats are looking a little tired and the car could do with a retrim (there is the usual odd nick on the seats etc).

However, the problem is that EVERYTHING on the interior is pretty much beige. Which limits my choice to a second hand of seats and makes a retrim an expensive option and I've had prices from £800+ :pale:

One option I've considered is a set of front MK3 Golf VR6 Black leather seats. I know the runners are completely different but i'm hoping that I can remove the MK3 base and put the foam/leather onto the Corrado base. Has anyone ever done this before? This would mean I would have to get the rear seats retrimed/resprayed and keep the door cards beige. Any ideas what a beige interior would look like with black leather seats. I'm hoping it would be a good colour contrast? :gag:

Any ideas for swapping seats from other VW models etc?

I had mine re-coloured here

They 'spray the leather to match and mine is perfect after 3 yrs (although rarely gets used!). I had the cheaper option but the dearer version is supposed to give a longer lasting finish and it's cheaper than a retrim. They can repair tears etc too. I don;t think black seats with beige door cards would look right personally, black carpets etc with all beige seats looks fine but mixing seats and doorcards may look odd.
