Best oil for a 1.8 16v????

Mundane i know but there are so many different opinions out there it'd be nice to know what a few peeps think?? I have used the search thread but newt comes up so thought i'd throw it out there.... :confused4:

Synta from VW - cheap and good quality, change it every 5k miles.

Recenlty I've been using Mobil Super S 10w40 - handily on special at Halfords.

 

Edit: Oh, and if you didn't know it VW filters are cheaper than any you can get on the high street so you may as well get the proper ones.

Carlube 10W40 semi synthetic works fine for me, its only £11.58 for 5ltr

The Synta from VW....how much is cheap??!! Sounds good and with the VW oil filter being the cheapest and best it all strings together and makes wonderous sense!! :norty:

As regardes the filter, i use a bosch one picked that up for £3.78

 

And dont forget to change the sump plug washer, they cost peanuts aswell.

Thats cheaper than at the dealers, VW want about £4.50 for one, Halfords wanted £5.99 for own brand or £6.99 for a Champion one.
