I think I've got a drivers side set of undercarpet (and the sound deadening) if you want it -

Let me check back and get you a price.

Defo not wet - seems to have a semi circular shaped score in it....

I thought maybe it was just the top rubber bit that had cracked, but it's on the underside too, so I'm guessing it's factory design to allow it to move into the gaps and lower points in the floor pan?!

If you can check yours and let me know if its the same!

Other than that (if it isn't factory) it's in really good nick.

Mine was like this, stank of wet dog and dead things.

ripped it all out, scrubbed away until it stank no more and replaced with normal carpet underlay and a thick bit of rubber. Hopefully it works the same.

If anything a £2.50 sq/m bit of underlay is worth a go, not gonna break the bank at that price :D

Got to laugh really....

My passenger side underlay is currently drying out next to the radiator. No idea how it got wet ye. Though, hoping it's from when the matrix went at the stertorous of the summer, but sounds a bit unlikely really!

Good luck,

Andy

just a quick update, i rung the stealers, all the underlay is not obsolete/nla.

except the drivers side underlay which is 26pound odd plus the vat. hope this helps any one in my situation when your car smells like an old dog!!!

Hi Guys,

If you are trying to get to the bottom of whats wrong, try looking at viewtopic.php?f=19&t=86764 VW deviant suggested that as my matrix is changed, the reason the footwell might be wet is due to the Foilage gasket.

Have either of your noticed your blower squeaking or a had to replace the thermal fuse recently? if so the gasket may well be your issue :)

Hah, this is the best I could describe the smell of 17 years of filth collecting and getting soggy under my carpets! (Which smelled just as bad)
