What brake pads??

I just bought Mk3 golf VR6 front callipers and carriers of ebay and G60 drilled/grooved discs to upgrade the front brakes, the only question I have not found a answer for is what brake pads should I use? Halfrauds list the VR6 as using the same size pads but slighty thicker, is that right?
