Where do I find the engine no.?

Hi,

 

I’m viewing a car tomorrow. I’ve just done a car check with mycarcheck.com and it has given me an ‘engine number’.

 

Where is the engine number located so I can check if they match?

what engine are you looking at VR6, 16v???

engine numbers are stamped on engine blocks in various places, but they may also be recorded on factory stickers in the boot floor or on original cam belt covers etc.

i asked the same question to Stealth last week

 

if you do not have the sticker on the cam cover then it is on the block, above the water pump, head off to get to though. I checked with my stripped engine and they were right.
