Steering/Fan belt.

When i bought my car the alternator was loose, fell off, stuck it back on and since its been squeeking at me all the time but it gets alot worse when i steer, and seems to play with my steering as it clunks in full lock especially when reversing.

 

Im not sure if i have power steering because it doesnt feel like it but theres a wee tank in the bay which said only use recomended chemicals or something, atm i dont know what it is, so im asumeing power steering, if i have it, it doesnt work.

Also i have a little electrical connection that buzzes when my ignition is on, not sure what its for.

Hello,

 

The squeeking is probally due the belt been old and worn, the buzzing on ignition could be the fuel pump priming.

is the buzzzing a problem, as my car over heats atm but i did think it was the thermostat, have changed it but cant put it back together atm cus ive snapped some bolts which hold the PAS pump on.

 

Is this usually a problem and does anyone else hear buzzzing with their ignition on from the engine bay 2 little wires by the distributor cap.
