Ignition switch or Fuel pump relay?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been meaning to replace my ignition switch cos the engine wasn't turning over. I know switch needs replacing for this reason, but I now have a different problem.....the fuel pump doesn't prime, so now it turns over but wont fire as there is no fuel there. I'm thinking that the pump relay probably needs changing too, but could this be the ignition switch playing up in a different way? The dash lights all still come on ok with ignition turned on, but is there a separate feed from the switch to power the fuel pump relay?

Cheers

get that switch done!, they feel so much nicer new too (use genuine VAG ones)

once that's ruled out you can then look at fusing/relays for the fuel pump, but from what you've said it's very likely the ignition switch.
