James. 7 Posted August 11, 2010 After this weekends debarcle at Tatton and nearly being stranded if it wasn't for Andy (C5 OEM) and his jump leads, I've decided to invest into a small kit of spares/consumables that I keep neatly in the boot for when such times (hopefully don't) arise. I've pinned down the following: 1, First aid kit (already fitted) 2, Jump leads 3, Bottle of water (5 litre ) 4, Zip ties and jubilee clips (about half a dozen of each) 5, Bottle of oil (1.5L) 6, Loose change (about a tenner in loose coins) 7, Waterpump pliers 8, Tow rope I want to keep it as compact as possible so if anyone can make suggestions. stretch. 0 Posted August 12, 2010 My little Emergency Kit - Jump Leads - Hazard Triangle - Spare Wheel, Jack, Wheel Brace - 2 ltr water bottle - 2 ltr Coolant - 1 ltr Oil top up - Small socket/screwdriver set (Front drivers door bin is the perfect spot for this on a 'rado ) - Nitrile Gloves - First Aid kit You'd be surprised at the amount of people who don't know where their spare tyre is. Let alone how to change the bugger. I work for the 3rd largest breakdown company and the most common phrase is "Oh... stretch. 0 Posted August 12, 2010 Mainly "do you have a spare wheel?" You do get the odd gem, had someone who didn't know where the engine was on their own bike. Loads of people who have dead key fob batteries but don't think of unlocking the car with the physical key! Have you ever tried explaining the difference between a steelie and an alloy to someone who hasn't a clue! You get a lot of "yes... it has wheels" The one that makes me cringe is someone locking their keys in th boot and finding out they keep the spare key in the glovebox...
