Ben-B 0 Posted August 13, 2010 I've seen something about this in the Bentley manual, in the troubleshooting section for electric windows. Says if they work when the door is open, but not when it's closed, then the problem is ___________________ Only thing is, I can't remember what that ___________ is... I'll go have a look now for you though
Ben-B 0 Posted August 13, 2010 Bentley manual (on page 64.25) says: Glass, Window Regulators Power windows do not operate with driver's door open Test condition - all other window functions OK LEFT* front door contact switch (F2), checking *(Bentley manual being for USA models, perhaps you need to check the other door) - disconnect battery ground strap - remove left rear trim panel (again this might be right panel for RHD) - disconnect connectors T8a (brown), T8b (white) from power window control unit (J 139) - set multimeter FLUKE 83 (US 1119) to Ohm range - connect black test lead to terminal 5 of connector T8a (brown) and red test lead to terminal 1 of connector T8b (white) - open driver's door A - Multimeter reads ? Ohms (no continuity) B - Multimeter reads 0 Ohms (continuity) If A - check and repair wiring according to wiring diagram, or - replace door contact switch (F2) - END If B - replace power window control unit (J 139) - END I'd have scanned the pages in but my scanner is broke :(
