Corrado VR6 Vacuum leak

Recommended Posts

This is starting to drive me crazy I've replaced all pipes now, but I still get a whining noise..

I've narrowed it down to it being this bit here under accelerator cable, as whenever I touch it I can stop the whining. But I can't see how it would effect it as it's just a spring isn't it?

I'm confused, should I go ahead and get a replacement part?

Its a damper to stop the throttle snapping shut when you lift of. They do get tired and become less effective and i dont think replacements are too expensive

Ok thanks, but would it be the cause of a vacuum leak?

Nope. only thing it could do if it was set to high would be to cause the throttle to sit open at idle.

Are you sure its not the ISV whining, it is right next to that

The hissing noise is probably the isv damper mentioned above. Its noisy and sounds like a vacuum leak but thas just how it is. I dont think there will be a leak. Have you got a problem that you're trying to resolve?

Fairly sure it isn't the ISV, but will have a look again.

Trying to fix the whining the noise as it's pretty loud. Fairly sure it's a vacuum leak as the idle isn't spot on either.
