Cragel 0 Posted November 2, 2010 Ive got a 1990 KR Corrado and Its had the matrix hose modification where the valve has been put in, but the small hose with an upwards bend on it has split. VW dont list or make this hose anymore. Any ideas what I could use instead? Or shall I just get a hose made up? Ive tried taping it up and some k-seal but its managing to leak out still, so instead of keep having to top it up, ive gotta replace it. Any ideas and help would be much appreciated. volksworld13 0 Posted November 4, 2010 a picture of the hose would help.
Supercharged 2 Posted November 4, 2010 If you're completely stuck most heater hose is a standard bore size - halfords do a range on the shelf
Wullie 1 Posted November 5, 2010 There are two ways to go here. I had this hose leak and replaced it on a temporary basis with the feed hose from a propane tank to the heater it was supplying. It's still there after four years. The other is to remove the valves altogether and join the hoses with copper piping and delete the valves. The last is balanced with whether the heater matrix has been replaced as the valves were a recall item to prevent matrixes filling the footwell with boiling water. Later matrix's (Matrices?) are supposedly stronger.
