Any ideas 16v just started playing up

I'm not too sure about 2.0l, they've got too many electronicy bits, however some basic troubleshooting never hurts. Check the earths around the engine and battery at clean and ight. The next time it throws a tantrum don't just crank it till it starts, check for a spark at the plugs, fuel etc. If you can, stick a known good battery directly into the car and see what happens. Maybe someone with a better knowledge of 2.0 l's will be along to shed a bit more light.

I would definately try to find a manifold with a flexi- they sometimes pop up on ebay.

 

The injector cleaner is probably worth a shot- used several trypes in the past, but couldn't tell you if they actually did anything! :lol:

I sorted the lumpy running and poor starting issue (after left standing for a while) - just the fuel filter. God knows how old it was, but replaced and sorted. Cheers!
