Dubcharged 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Hi Guys, Just a quick warning to anyone with a short shift. I went out last night for thrash after getting my charger ported. Got to some traffice lights and went to take the car out of gear then.....pop! the cable came off the BBM short shift lever  Basically the puny circlip holding the cable on just popped off. Easy to fix but a bit of an arse being stranded in the middle of a road waiting for my mate to tow me. Might be an idea for anyone who has a short shift to put a cable tie around the lever and Cable, so in the event of the circlip popping off at least the cable will be held back by the tie. Right, time to wax the car and then test out a generation 2 30lb injector map :D 8)
brookescourt 0 Posted March 23, 2003 When I had my B&M fitted ar TSR they welded it together as there have been a few cases of this happening. Everything has been ok so far.
G60Jet 1 Posted March 23, 2003 Dubcharged, okay you MAY have a bigger problem looming, this happened to me, basically the cable guides under the car moved or broke causeing the cable to become slack and popping out of synch, thus loosing 1,2, 5 and reverse. i had only 3 and 4th. worth a check
