Cold miss problem, sensor?

While its getting up to temp there is an occasional problem where it feels like the rev limiter has been hit and I have to jump on the clutch. Sometimes its when accelerating hard, other times when not, so no real pattern to it.

 

A couple of days ago it stalled for the first time when dipping the clutch as I approached a junction.

And yesterday when doing about 80 in 5th the car seemed to loose power when the accelerator was pressed and the rev counter would drop to 0 then back up even though it was still in gear. Did this for about 4 seconds, then was fine.

 

Now these symptoms clear and it drives perfectly when at full running temp.

The car also sounds like an evo recently when backing off the gas, ie popping on over run (hunting?)

 

My guess is a sensor is duff, causing overfueling, which in turn is causing the other problems.

 

Suggestions?
