2.0 16v Plusing Revs at idle ?

2.0 16v Plusing revs at idle, then sometimes idling at about 1100 rpm for around 5 seconds then settling, sometimes cutting out at idle, harder to start than usual (turning over for longer before firing) and smellin like its running rich from the exhaust.

 

When its idling normally and the isv is unpluged it go's to the plusing idle until the ignition is turned off and back on.

 

I've cleaned out the isv with carb cleaner with no improvement

 

Any ideas or someone that may have had this problem and the cure.

I cleaned mine with a disc breaks cleaner and it sorted the problem.
