Mk II Golf oilfilter on a Corrado G60?

Hi all,

wanting to erase the nasty extra long oilfilter (original VW) on my Corrado G60 1991, to say a Golf Mk. II oilfilter, to get rid of the hex-shaped elongation in the oilfilter.

Will the Mk. II filter fit? and is it exactly the same inside (reliefvalve, oilways dimensioning etc) ?

This will make it easier to take off/spin on.

Again I will mention that I only ever use original VW oilfilters.
