2.0 16V Losing Coolant.

Morning all,

 

I'm hoping you can help me with some ideas of where I might be losing coolant.

 

The car is a '93 2.0 16V with KR head.

 

Over the past few years I've gradually replaced all of the hoses under the bonnet.

Last year a new radiator was fitted.

Earlier this year the two coolant flanges on the head were changed.

The heater matrix was changed in Oct (what a fun job that was!).

 

It still seems to be losing coolant. I'm stumped.

 

I changed the oil last weekend and there wasn't any water mixed in there so I don't believe it's a head gasket issue.

 

Any ideas?

Have you checked the metal pipe that goes from the heater(?) down to the water pump area, they have a habit of corroding. If you are loosing coolant there are normally some tell tale signs of it?

That's a good call.

 

Whilst changing the oil I noticed the bottom of the gearbox diff looked wet. IIRC that metal pipe sits above that.
