Tdi gearbox in 16v rado

Hi,

I am thinking of getting a b4 passat tdi gearbox I think the code is t4. Will it fit my Corrado 2.0-16v? I want the longer drive in 5th, do I need to do anything else, will the Corrado starter fit the tdi gearbox, and will the Corrado drives match up tdi gearbox?

An 02a gearbox will just bolt up, but the ratios on a tdi box won't suit the 16v engine, a 5th gear swap would be a better mod. See yandards guide.

i would agree with dave there,you need to be look at higher torque engine before swapping gearboxes.You'll lose all accelaration and your car will feel flat as a pancake and not as fun to drive.But if you want to then by all means try it.

 

Never heard of a T4 gearbox,heard of a T4 vw bus though.All gearboxes have three letter prefixes like ASD,CTN,ATA,ATB. Depending on the box depends on the gearing....

Yes Its a CGY gearbox from a golf mk3 I think. Where do I find that thread u were saying about removing 5th gear?
