Help with door cards

Recommended Posts

When i got the corrado it had some crappy knackered speakers in the door cards (4" speakers) i removed them as they didnt have the grilles and looked crap

Take a look at the photos below - what am i missing? On my Golf it had speaker doors on the door cards with a grille on them, is this the same on the Corrado?

The photos below shows you what im missing

What bits do i need?

Looks to me mate that you are just missing the speaker cover - it's just a kinda plastic facing that slots into the two indentations at the top and bottom of the speaker hole - mine kept falling out. People tend to clip them as they get out that car and they slide out easy. As far as I can see I think that's all that's missing. Maybe contact some guys breaking corrados on the forum and see if they have any.

Hope that helps.

BTW, looks like you may also be missing the plastic membrane which is stuck all round the door edges under the door cards, without this you will get rainwater dripping down and wetting the lower edges of the door cards. May as well replace these if you take the door cards off (bout £15 each from VW as I recall. People often think the seals on the door outer side against the glass are a water seal, not so, the plastic membranes under the door cards which people often remove or tear fitting speakers etc are important in stopping water. Just a thought.
