I purchased an early Golf Gti Mk3 (non-airbag) steering wheel from Ebay in great condition - design is identical to the VR6 3 spoke (see attached), the only difference being that it's non-leather. It still has a nice padded / grippy feeling though and is a good alternative if you want to retain the original design but your leather wheel has seen better days and a leather refurb is not your preferred choice.
