What lives here?

Recommended Posts

So just out of curiosity, what lives behind the passenger side dash board in a 95 VR6?, you know just cause mine looks like it has been tampered with.....

So I already know blower motor was the cause, but am keen to get the car running, to allow me to move it about under it's own power, but don't want to fry anything extra (ECU), so damaged wiring is coming out first.

Am I right in saying abs relays live there?, what's the control module that lives on the very bottom left hand side of the passenger foot well, and can anyone tell me what else has bit the dust, know the stereo wiring loom has gone as well?

Plan is to methodically unplug everything and then rebuild. Any advice would be very welcome.

Regards

Dave

Holy ****, that looks nasty! I know the controller box is the abs ecu, not sure what else is back there though.

Best start with what runs into the passenger door for the lecci windows, de-misting mirror etc see if those circuits pass through. Also if any after market alarm sensors as it looks like a fair bit of extra wiring there.

Looks nasty, did it just burn up or come like this?

good luck.

This was the blower motor fire that meant the car became a friends parts part, then became my project car.

Hopefully will get the rest of the dash removed soon and post another pic or two, it maybe a case of not as bad as it looks, as i know the passenger side speaker has melted in there somewhere, so when I separate some of the looms out i'll get a better picture, and the full write up on my build thread, but just trying to get an idea of what i will have to go hunting for.
